Boulder Jewish Day School is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board meets once a month. Parents and community members are welcome at the meetings. Check our calendar to see when our next meeting will be.

Rivkah Bachrach

Rivkah is a massage therapist and Shiatzu healer practicing for 10 years. She is a graduate of the Florida School of Massage as well as The Tao Healing Arts in Santa Monica, California. She recently received an Interdisciplinary Degree from Naropa Univeristy. (2007) While at Naropa she organized a Parent Support Group. In the past, she lived in Israel for 4 years and has worked for Chabad. Rivkah has one son at BJDS.

David Brode

David owns and runs a consulting firm specializing in Corporate Finance. Possessing a strong business acumen, he has experience in management consulting and corporate strategy. David received a BA wth High Honors in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Michigan. He has lived in Boulder for 13 years and is a member of Nevei Kodesh. David will take over the role of Treasurer for the Board in June 2009.

Haver Representative

Members of Haver, Boulder's Rabbinic Fellowship, will also be supporting the Boulder Jewish Day School by participating on the Board of Directors.

Stephen Huh

Stephen is currently employed at Sun Microsystems as a software engineer. He has a MS in computer science from CU Boulder (1998) and a BS in computer science/electrical engineering from Duke University(1993).Stephen and his family have lived in Boulder for 12 years and have been members of Bonai Shalom for the past seven years. Currently he has a son in Jr K and plans to enroll his other son the following year in pre-school.

Jeff Linsky

Jeffrey is a professor of astrophysics at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He does research on stars, the interstellar medium, chemical evolution of the galaxy, and the abundance of the deuterium isotope. His research involves observing with the Hubble Space Telescope and other satellites. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his PhD from Harvard University. He has published many papers in the astronomical journals and edited several books. He enjoys teaching young people about science and astronomy. Jeffrey and his wife Lois have lived in Boulder since 1968 and their two children grew up here. He is a founding member of Congregation Bonai Shalom and before that was President of Congregation Har HaShem. He has been on the Board and Ritual Committee of Bonai Shalom for many years. He was one of the founders of the Boulder Jewish Day School and has been on the Board since its inception except for one year. He was also President of the BJDS.

Brian Seigal

Brian has spent the last 25 years involved with Jewish nonprofit organizations in various leadership positions. Since coming to Boulder in 1999, Brian has been actively involved in Har HaShem as a youth advisor, member/chair of a dozen + committees, and a board member. Brian is currently the Past President of Har HaShem. Under his leadership Har HaShem assembled 6 acres and 4 buildings to create a campus and raised $4 M in capital. The staff leadership team was strengthened through the recruitment of Rabbi Rose and the negotiation of a long-term contract with Rabbi Bronstein. In addition to his role as BJDS President, Brian serves as a board member of the Boulder Jewish Community Foundation and an officer of the Har HaShem board. Professionally Brian’s expertise is in assisting organizations - start ups and established companies in achieving their next level of development. Brian has helped turn around a number of distressed organizations, achieving success where others have failed. Presently Brian works with select clients as a consultant through FIVE L, LLC.

Edmond Shapiro

Edmond has been in Boulder since 2001. He is the Vice President/ Project Delivery Americas with NDS where he has worked since 1997. Edmond is currently responsible for managing NDS teams that deliver and integrate NDS technologies to North and South American pay-television operators. He has worked in this capacity in the US and Israel. Prior to NDS, Edmond was responsible for the deployment of corporate management systems at US West (1996), and developing pioneering multi-media systems at Origin Technologies (1991). Edmond has a B.A. in International Management from Claremont McKenna College in Claremont (1985). Presently, he has a two preschool aged children who go to BJDS. They plan to enroll in the BJDS Kindergarten next year. His wife, Marla, has just given birth to twins.

Cairole Woodward

Since 1998, Cairole Woodward has been the owner and principal engineer of Samson Engineering, a civil and structural engineering firm concentrating on all aspects of residential and small commercial construction. Her masters degree from the University of Maryland(1992) is in environmental and sanitary engineering with emphasis on alternative biological and chemical ways to treat industrial wastes. Prior to starting her own business, she was part of the engineering team that designed the River Run Village in Keystone, and was the lead researcher and remediation design engineer in determining the impact of road contamination to wetlands from the Pikes Peak Highway (at Drexel Barrell 1996-1998). Cairole has been in Boulder since 1992. She is a member of both Congregation Bonai Shalom.and Kehilath Aish Kodesh and a financial supporter of the Lubavitch of Boulder. She served on the Board of Congregation Bonai Shalom for five years and has previously served five years on the Board of the Jewish Day School. In the past she has been active in Jewish Faimily Service. She has lived and worked in Israel. Presently, she has three elementary school aged children (1st, 3rd and 5th) who have attended BJDS.
